Add to favourites Book now

San Giorgio has a spectacular position, high on the hillside and close to the charming medieval village of Palaia (1 km).
This 15th century property retains much of its original flair and character and consists of 2 buildings plus a delightful Roman chapel.
San Giorgio offers 5 spacious accommodations, surrounded by a large and well tended garden boarded with lemon trees in beautiful terracotta pots and rosemary bushes, as well as an inviting pool overlooking a splendid landscape over the endless valleys.
One of the owners is a well-known architect; he successfully restored the estate in respect to former architecture and details. In fact all accommodations have a charming open fireplace, terracotta floors etc.
The apartments are comfortably furnished; the kitchens are perfectly well equipped and each accommodation has its private garden terrace, i.e. outdoor dining area.

About Palaia
The splendid medieval little town Palaia (900 inhabitants) has much activity. One imagines oneself in the past, when one sees the old crafts, practiced in the village. There are shops, some bars, terraces, restaurants, a 'gelateria' (ice-cream), pizzeria, postoffice, bank etc. without the village losing its authenticity.
In the middle of the village is the 'Rocca' a rock, that one can climb and from where one has a splendid view. Just a little outside of Palaia there is the church 'Pieve di San Martino'. The panoramic views in and around Palaia are fabulous.
In the surroundings of Palaia beautiful walks can be made. Tenants get descriptions for these walks, a map, and tips for restaurants, markets, dinners at home of individuals, cook at your home adress, tasting of Tuscan dishes etc.
